(There was a scripture that backed this up, I believe, and I'd have to go search to figure out what that was!) If I feel like I'm not "getting fed" by the speaker (or the services at my congregation), then I may have my mind closed to opportunities! It's so easy to just sit in a lesson or song service and let your mind wander and then blame it on someone else who didn't capture your attention.

The purpose of congregating on Sundays is to encourage others, right? I think it's oftentimes more about what you can give to the meeting than what you get out of it. And in the giving, you can be filled.

Making the opportunites for fellowship happen----that's what it's going to take.

Last night at my church, we started a series of lessons that really touched me. Maybe I should blog about that! But the main point I got was----
Are you saying yes to God, but not really showing up to work and use your talents in the vineyard? (Which is really saying no to God.) Or are you saying no, but will change your mind and will join in on the work? Matt 21:28-32 was the scripture. Either way, the journey is from no to yes, and it's your journey to take.

The personal relationship with God
will lead you on that journey---it's the real journey!

Just what I needed to hear!jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00520626821125707591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6339038013158175064.post-329431622531472632007-08-16T08:31:00.000-05:002007-08-16T08:31:00.000-05:00Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts Sarah.
